The Fencing division of Daniel Whelan Engineering is one which continues to grow, with nationwide work being carried out by our Fencing teams. The Fencing services we provide have been used in a range of industries from residential to sports and educational facilities. This week we take a look at some work carried out a little closer to home for us here at Daniel Whelan Engineering.

As we are based in Borris, we have a number of teams in the surrounding areas with Mount Leinster Rangers and Graignamanagh both in our local area. As a supporter of our community, we had already carried out the work on Mount Leinster Rangers new facilities with the supply of fencing for a new astro turf pitch. It was an honour to work alongside a club from our own community and was amazing to see the joy the new facilities brought to all involved in the club.

Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of working alongside another club we are all too familiar with here in Daniel Whelan Engineering, Graignamanagh GFC. Take a look back to 1953, when the area was served by three clubs, Brandon Rovers, Tinnahinch and Black & Whites. Those involved in the club believed with the correct structure in place Graignamanagh could gain a place among the elite of Kilkenny Hurling. In the beginning the club had no playing pitch, no hurleys and no sliothars. However, in 2003 and the club celebrated their 50^th anniversary, a testament to the hard work and dedication to those people who believed this club could grow and compete with the elite in Kilkenny Hurling.

Fast Forward to 2018 and today we take a closer look at their facilities. Daniel Whelan Engineering Works provided pitch side spectator railing, and weld mesh fencing alongside ball stop netting behind each goal. The club has come a long way since its very humble beginnings, to become a club with excellent facilities and a professional look and feel to their grounds. The grounds at Graignamanagh now have a professional look and feel to match their performances on the pitch.
